South Capitol Renovation

The Project

Kitchen renovation with dining room addition

We love collaborating with great people and great businesses. Our clients reached out to us with a vision and a great plan designed by local architects Residents Understood. It was our job to take their drawings and images and make them a reality. Our clients purchased this Capitol Hill Row home and immediately set out to make it their own. The existing footprint of the home was a bit tight for their family of four and the kitchen was dated and in need of upgrade. They came loaded with style and design pictures as well as a full set of plans! We loved working alongside them as we added space and function to their home. We gutted the existing kitchen and reframed the floor system and walls while simultaneously adding a single story addition on the rear of the home for a new dining room. We upgraded the existing electrical, plumbing, and mechanicals in the kitchen. Tall, full lite glass exterior doors and walls of windows allowed a tremendous amount of natural light into the formerly dark space. We created better flow to the back of the house by adding a large arched opening between the living room and newly renovated space. Custom built cabinetry, top notch appliances, heated cement tile floors, quartz countertops, and elegant fixtures and hardware make this the most desirable spot in the whole house! We were delighted to bring new life to this home and help bring our amazing clients’ vision into reality.
